L’ ASK-21 è un aliante biposto in materiale composito, con caratteristiche ottime in Veleggiamento e Acrobazia. E’ stato progettato con particolare riguardo alla sicurezza e con un occhio di riguardo alla attività di formazione dei piloti sia nel corso basico che nelle varie discipline a livello avanzato.L’ASK 21 è stato progettato da Rudolf Kaiser fornendo un moderno velivolo biposto, colmando il divario tra formazione iniziale e monoposto prestazioni di volo.

Costruzione

Due posti in tandem con doppi comandi, pedaliera regolabile e poggiatesta. La fusoliera è costituita da un sandwich tubolare e quindi offre una sicurezza passiva con basso peso. L’ala a sbalzo in due semiali  a longherone singolo di fibra di vetro senza alette. Le Wingtips curvano verso il basso, fornendo i supporti a slitta che consentono decolli senza un supporto di ala. La coda a T possiede uno stabilizzatore orizzontale fisso e un elevatore con trim e automatico a molla.

 Caratteristiche di volo

Il profilo alare possiede buone caratteristiche a bassa velocità ( velocità di stallo circa 65 km/h o 35 nodi). Le caratteristiche di volo sono docili; lo stallo è dolce, con buffeting ampio e facilmente recuperabile.

The ASK-21 is a two-seater glider in composite material, with excellent characteristics in soaring and aerobatics. It was designed with particular regard to safety and with an eye to the training of pilots both in the basic course and in the various disciplines at the advanced level.The ASK 21 was designed by Rudolf Kaiser providing a modern two-seater aircraft, filling the gap between initial training and single-seat flight performance.

Construction
Two seats in tandem with dual controls, adjustable pedal and headrest. The fuselage consists of a tubular sandwich and thus offers passive safety with low weight. The cantilevered wing in two half-wings with single spar of fiberglass without fins. The Wingtips curve downward, providing sled mounts that allow takeoffs without a wing support. The T-tail has a fixed horizontal stabilizer and an elevator with trim and automatic spring.

Flight characteristics
The airfoil has good low speed characteristics (stall speed about 65 km / h or 35 knots). The flight characteristics are docile; the stall is sweet, with ample and easily recoverable buffeting.
